Mark was nominated for the Russ Manning Award for Best Newcomer that year, and for an Eisner Award for Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition in 2001. His illustrations have appeared in works from Wizards of the Coast (for <em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons<\/em>), White Wolf (for <em>Vampire: The Masquerade<\/em> and<em> Werewolf: The Apocalypse<\/em>),\u00a0Brigand Publishing (for <em>Avlis<\/em>), Kobold Press (<em>Kobold Quarterly<\/em> and the <em>Midgard Campaign Setting)<\/em>, and collectible card games from AEG (<em>L5R <\/em>and<em> Warlords<\/em>). He contributed a short story to the Eisner-Award winning <a title=\"Legends of the Guard\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mouseguard.net\/books\/legends-of-the-guard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard<\/em> <\/a>anthology; designed and illustrated a roleplaying game based on <em>Artesia<\/em> that won the Origins Award for Role-Playing Game of 2006, three Indie RPG Awards, and was nominated for six ENnies;\u00a0contributed art and illustrations to Tony Caputo\u2019s <em><a title=\"Visual Storytelling\" href=\"http:\/\/www.visualstorytelling.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Visual Storytelling: The Art and Technique<\/a><\/em> and to Buddy Scalera&#8217;s <a title=\"Buddy Scalera\" href=\"http:\/\/www.buddyscalera.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Visual Reference for Comic Artists<\/em> <\/a>vol 3; and been selected for the annual <em>Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art<\/em> publication. Mark collaborated with filmmaker Hidetoshi Oneda on the script to the short film <em><a title=\"La Belle Dame Sans Merci\" href=\"http:\/\/www.celophaine.com\/lbdsm\/lbdsm_top.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">La Belle Dame Sans Merci<\/a>,<\/em> based on the poem by John Keats, which\u00a0won Best Science Fiction\/Fantasy Film at the first Comic-Con\u00a0International Independent Film Festival. \u00a0Recently he contributed an essay on <em>Artesia<\/em> and religion to <em><a title=\"Graven Images\" href=\"http:\/\/www.continuumbooks.com\/books\/detail.aspx?BookId=134277&amp;SubjectId=997&amp;Subject2Id=1451\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Graven Images: Religion in Comic Books &amp; Graphic Novels<\/a><\/em>, published by Continuum International Publishing. He founded one company, Archaia Studios Press. as a self-publishing home for his comics book; it was acquired by BOOM!
